Proposal Details: We are currently operating at full capacity, and wish to expand our existing services by opening a new day centre offering a range of activities to appeal to different age groups, catering for a wide range of needs. Our approach will be very flexible and demand driven, and could include:
  • lunch clubs
  • Meals on wheels
  • Laundry service
  • games and hobbies (bridge, cards, bingo, knitting, billiards, pool, flower arranging etc)
  • seated exercises in conjunction with Time4Life
  • dementia friendly services inc reminiscence sessions, development of “life books”
  • events such as fashion shows
  • excursions (eg: to garden and shopping centres, the beach, National Trust properties etc) using our own wheelchair friendly mini-buses/community transport
  • participatory and training sessions eg: cookery, arts, crafts, animal care, riding, in conjunction with Made-Well community interest company
  • internet cafe
  • free benefits advice and “better off in work” calculations
  • helping prepare for jobs (job searching, CV and letter writing, interview skills etc)
  • helping to prepare business plans for those who wish to be self-employed, along with funding applications
  • Apprenticeships
  • Volunteering opportunities (meals on wheels deliveries, driving etc)
  • access to training in food hygiene, first aid, health & safety
  • creche for local parents
We are already operating at full capacity, and wish to expand our existing services to provide new initiatives that appeal to and benefit a wider audience, 7 days a week.
